2011 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Much of the talk surrounding the Tampa Bay Bucs revolved around not the play of football but about assault charges in Texas and the dedication of one of the teams Captains. Jeff Faine, the Bucs Center, was featured in a blog as being less that dedicated to his team. This caused so much distress that the veteran center was forced to respond in an open letter in which he said “I can assure you that my dedication to my team, the Buccaneers organization and the Tampa community has never wavered. I take pride in sharing not only football experience, but life skills and business knowledge that my teammates can use after their football careers end. This quality is why I have been voted a captain the past three years. It would be tough to find a player in this league that wears that captain’s patch with more pride.”
The Bucs first round 2011 draft pick, DE Adrian Clayborn, has earned a starting job as the teams RDE. The team has high hopes for this player and loves his attitude about playing the game. “It’s an aggressive position (defensive end). That’s how I like to play and that’s how I’m going to play.”
Look for the Buccaneers to gel towards the middle of the season and make a push towards the ever elusive playoffs.
